Discover a peaceful, family-run equestrian haven just minutes from Waterford city. Blenheim Stud offers full livery services in warm, comfortable, and high-quality stabling designed with your horse’s wellbeing in mind. Located only 4 miles from the city centre, our yard provides a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle—perfect for leisure riders seeking a calm, non-competitive environment. Each livery client enjoys their own secure, individually fenced grazing paddock, along with access to modern exercise and grooming facilities tailored to support happy, healthy horses.

Stables

In all, our Livery consists of 10 stalls housed within a warm and comfortable American Style Barn by Prestige Timber Stables. Each of our stalls are 12ft x 12ft, rubber matted, with automatic water feeders and all have outward facing windows for ventilation and mental stimulation.

In addition to the stalls, within the barn we have a Wash Bay, Feed room, Tack room, Hay barn and general storage area. So, on wet winter days, you needn’t worry about getting your feet wet while caring for your horse.

Paddocks

At Blenheim Stud, equine wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do—and that includes prioritising regular turnout. All livery horses enjoy year-round access to turnout, which we believe is essential for both physical health and mental balance.

We offer 10 smaller paddocks, ideal for safe winter grazing, along with four larger fields that are rotated for summer turnout and hay production during the warmer months. All turnout areas are securely enclosed with HorseRail Ireland electric fencing, providing a safe and durable environment for your horse to relax and move freely.

Arena

Our outdoor all-weather arena may be compact, but it is immaculately maintained and built to a professional standard. The surface is a premium silica and carpet fibre blend by Equestrian Surfaces Ireland, offering excellent footing suitable for all disciplines—from flatwork and jumping to groundwork and horsemanship.

Constructed in 2014, the arena has proven itself through every season—it has never flooded or even formed puddles, even during the wettest weather. We also provide a range of training equipment, including 10ft jump poles, uprights, cones, and portable gates to support a variety of exercises and schooling needs.

Local Hacking

Hacking isn’t just great for improving your horse’s fitness—it also keeps their mind engaged and fresh by introducing variety, natural challenges, and new environments. Exploring different terrain offers countless opportunities for learning, confidence-building, and problem-solving—without the repetition and intensity of daily schooling in the arena.

At Blenheim Stud, we’re fortunate to have access to a range of beautiful local hacking routes, including The Hurt Hill, Woodstown Beach, and a network of quiet country roads and lanes. With such diverse options, there’s plenty to keep both horse and rider mentally stimulated and physically active throughout the year.

About Anna

Horse and rider

Anna is a graduate of the College of Horse Studies in Pardes Hanna, Israel, where she qualified in Western Horsemanship, Horse Management, and Western Riding Instruction. She previously held accreditation from the American Quarter Horse Association as an AQHA Event Manager and has organised numerous national shows, clinics, and special events across Ireland.

As an equestrian, Anna has experience in disciplines such as side saddle and is a seasoned competitor in Western riding, with multiple national titles to her name. She has also represented Ireland internationally in barrel racing, competing in both China and Mongolia.

Anna served on the Board of Directors of the Irish Quarter Horse Association for four years—initially as Director of Media, and later as both Chairman and Secretary. During her tenure, she coordinated two National Shows, several Western riding demonstrations, and the first-ever Western Horse Show held in County Waterford. Additionally, she represented Western riding on the Sub-Board Committee within Horse Sport Ireland for two years.

Anna’s primary focus is on equine wellbeing, and this philosophy underpins all aspects of how Blenheim Stud is run—from training methods and horse care to rider education and the overall environment offered to horses and clients alike.

About Blenheim

Blenheim Stud has been an equine property for over 30 years. Started in 1984 by Frank Lehane, a licenced National Hunt trainer, Blenheim Stud was a successful racing and breeding yard. Care of the property was taken over by his daughter, Anna, in 2012, who has converted the property from National Hunt Racing to a more general equine facility.

Blenheim Stud is situated on 23 acres overlooking the river Suir at Kings Channel. We aim to cater for equestrians who are looking to enjoy their horses in a relaxed, scenic, and more intimate facility.

Conveniently situated within four miles of Waterford City, we are a 15-minute drive from Woodstown Beach, with access to quiet country roads for hacking. We will also be hosting training and clinic events from visiting international trainers and horseman as an additional service.
