Equine Massage for Horse Owner
with Eilish Fisher – Equine Massage Practitioner and Physical Therapist
Sunday 25th July 2021 – 9:00 to 12:30
Blenheim Stud is delighted to announce that we will be hosting a practical half day class on the introduction to equine massage for the leisure horse owner. Learn to improve your horses mental and physical well being, as well as learning to locate small issues before they become large problems!
Equine massage helps to:

- Reduce Tension & Encourage relaxation
- Assist post work recovery
- Reduce pain
- Enhance muscle development
- Improve balance and overall performance
Over the course of three and a half hours, Eilish Fisher, an Equine Massage Practitioner and Physical Therapist, will give an introduction to equine muscular and skeletal anatomy, demonstrate how to read for pain and mobility difficulties, teach massage techniques and offer ideas on post work stretches to do at home.
Working in teams of two, attendees will get to practice ‘hands on’ under Eilish’s supervision. There will also be a Q&A session to finish off the class. Each participant will also be leaving with a hard copy of everything covered within the class to take home.
About Eilish
Eilish Fisher is a qualified equine sport’s massage therapist and McTimoney-Corley equine and canine physical therapist. Growing up on a farm in rural Vermont, Eilish has worked with and owned horses since childhood. Her years working with competition and leisure horses and in particular, hunters, sparked a keen desire to learn the best ways to promote muscle recovery, strength, flexibility and above all, willingness and comfort in the horses that were in her care.
She founded her practice Stablehands in 2009.
Past clients include Dublin Horse Show winners, hunters, national hunt horses, and national champions in various disciplines. Some of her favourite clients include rescue horses, dogs and even a cow!
Eilish strongly believes that every horse owner/rider should have access to basic massage and palpation techniques and that by learning these, a deeper empathy and understanding is achieved between horse and owner/rider.
Eilish currently provides clinics on basic massage for the horse owner.
